President’s Message

Message from FSCL President:

 
FSCL Member Clubs:
With the 2008 30 Overs competition underway from this past Sunday, 09/14, I want to thank you for your support for a smooth start to this competition. I want to take this opportunity to update you on the youth development program which starts this coming Saturday, 09/20.

1) We have asked Brian Edun, Leslie Latchmansingh, and Hafeez Sattaur to help with the youth program on Saturdays. Brian will coordinate the program.
2) The program will run from 9-11am. After the training session the FSCL youth team will play a regular 30 Overs game against a senior side. The schedule for these games was sent to all clubs last week – we will also post this schedule on our web site shortly. All FSCL youth games count towards standings and playoffs eligibility.

As discussed at our meeting on Saturday, we request all clubs to:
1) Provide a list of eligible players from your club, so they can participate in the FSCL Youth team.
2) Provide drinks for the FSCL youth team on game day.
3) Since the FSCL youth will play 7 games, we request each team to volunteer one day during the season to umpire the Saturday game.


Shailesh will contact you with a schedule so we have a structured calendar. Danny Khan, FCUA president, has also volunteered to do some of these games with a couple of his umpires.

The league will cover the ground fees for Saturday games and also provide cricket balls to the FSCL Youth team.

We appreciate the tremendous support received when we discussed the Youth program with you this past Saturday. Please stop by the park on Saturdays to offer your support and encouragement to the kids. We are always happy to receive any assistance we can get from senior players.
